About PostNuke
Postnuke CMS is a free open source content management system developed using PHP as a programming language. It was first launched in July 2001 by four developers who felt frustrated they couldn’t work on another open source project. Postnuke CMS creates dynamic websites and focuses and making the job easy for an administrator when it comes to customizing their online demo. Its features can be expanded by installing new modules, blocks and themes and is a content management system able to work in high-volume environments.
Postnuke CMS was used for creating all types of websites from individual blogs to a community of users. The screenshots below will give you a preview of how a Postnuke demo looked like and what kind of features were available. It was available free of charge and was distributed under the GNU/GPL version 2 license, which ensured you had full access to the code. This means you could modify it to fit your needs and requirements. Support was offered through community forums, but since it reached its end of life, support is no longer provided. Most people who used Postnuke CMS migrated to Zikula.
Development on Postnuke CMS has stopped and the project is no longer being maintained since 2008. The last version released was 0.764 and a decision was made to provide security updates until 1st July 2009. However, it is no longer recommended for use due to multiple security issues. There is no download available for this content management system, which means you cannot set up your own Postnuke demo and start testing its features.
