About Mercury
Mercury CMS is a content management system developed for small to medium businesses. Its goal was to provide an easy to use admin demo interface, that would eliminate the need for a webmaster and thus, cutting down costs. It came in four versions: Lite, Professional, Portal and E-Commerce that provided enough features and functionality to satisfy the business needs of any company.
Mercury CMS is no longer being developed or maintained, so a Mercury CMS demo is not available at this point. Its last version was 4.0 and was launched on August, 9 2005 so downloading the software and creating your own Mercury demo is also not an option. However, there were no installation requirements, as you only needed a web browser and internet access. Mercury CMS was available only in English, and you could use it based on a paid annual subscription plan. The first year’s subscription included web design and template development, along with free security updates whenever available.
Mercury CMS had a templating system that allows you to customize your online demo using themes. You could also extend its features by installing new modules and plugins. Some examples of features include login history, a WYSIWYG editor, advanced page caching to improve performance, metadata and link management. The user interface was platform independent as it worked on Windows/PC, Macintosh and Linux. Setting up a Mercury CMS demo required no programming skills, as everything was covered by the company managing the content management system.
